What we know 122k+ people experiencing homelessness in Australia. 26.1% of all Australians are considered persistently lonely. 44% of Aussies are experiencing financial hardship. 70% of Aussies are impacted by natural disasters. Why We Exist Orange Sky exists to support Australians doing it tough – whether that’s facing homelessness, financial hardship, social isolation, limited access to basic amenities, or displacement after a disaster. We show up when it matters most, providing free laundry, warm showers, and genuine connection through friendly conversations with our volunteers. Since day one, our mission has been simple – to positively connect communities through clean laundry, warm showers, and genuine, non-judgemental conversations. We are working towards a future where everyone has access to basic hygiene services and meaningful human connection – vital support for whatever challenges they face. Our 2030 Strategy is the roadmap to that future. It’s shaped by listening deeply to people with lived experience, strengthening the communities we serve, and expanding our support for Australians experiencing – or at risk of – homelessness and hardship. We are deepening our presence in at- risk communities, enhancing remote health support, and pioneering education programs that will bring lasting change. We will continue to invest in understanding our audiences’ needs, engaging in authentic storytelling and tailored communications to create meaningful experiences that foster long-term support. By scaling self-generating income and adopting new and innovative funding models, we hope to reduce the reliance on external sources to secure long-term sustainability.
