Orange Sky's $27.1M impact includes life improvements, environmental efforts, and support for UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Our Impact Orange Sky plays a leading role in providing essential services to people experiencing homelessness and hardship across Australia. Why we measure social impact Each week, thousands of volunteers across the country gather around a set of washing machines and six orange chairs, to provide a space for people in need to access improved hygiene, health and quality of life. Beyond measuring the number of laundry loads and warm showers delivered each week, we also measure the positive social impact we provide to people who use our service, and the volunteers who deliver our service. Our social impact measurements take into account: Individuals positively affected Quality of life improvements Reductions in inequality levels Environmental benefits Our latest data In the 2024/25 financial year, we delivered $27.1 million in social impact, our largest year of impact to date. Read our latest Annual Impact Report Environmental impact In 2022 we upgraded our existing fleet of laundry and shower vehicles to significantly reduce our environmental impact. In addition to this, we also were able to maximise service reliability, simplify and reduce the cost of maintenance and improve the overall experience for volunteers and people who use our service. The addition of solar panels and our innovative Waru Dryer means that Orange Sky reduced CO2-e and electrical consumption generated by our shifts.
